As well as taking a few shots in Prague, we had to sample the world famous Czech beer.
This was taken in "The Pub" a venue selected by Vojtech for it's quirkiness.
In the gloom, you might be able to see that each table has a beer dispenser in the middle. Getting a beer was simple-allocate yourself a number, hit that number on the control panel, pour yourself a beer-and your personal tab could be settled at the end of the evening.
But you might also notice the projector screen at the end of the room. This was showing our tables drinking performance against all the other tables-and even the pubs performance against the other pubs in the chain.
We thought that we were acquitting ourselves well, after all Brits, Czechs, Aussies and Americans aren't shy when it comes to a beer or two.
Well compared with a table in Paris, we were doing very badly-for every one of our pints, they were downing 3!
@Ted: I really think it could! No arguing over "Who didn't buy a round", no whining about the length of queues at the bar, great place for stag and hen parties-why not!
@Evelyne Dubos: There's a much larger non smoking area-so give it a try!
@Luke: It actually had a great atmosphere, even though you might expect it to get rowdy, it didn't
@Curly: Nope there are punter operated pumps, on the bar, next to the bartender operated ones. What might kill it is our requirement to have 200 different beers being sold at once....
@Philip: I chatted to the bar staff about that. Apparently, whilst tourists will accept"Sorry mate, we're closing" at which point they shuffle off, the locals just keep going all night....
