Black Knight

Posted by
CElliottUK (Reading, United Kingdom) on 21 June 2011 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio.

His carapace reminded me of armour

On yesterday's shot...It was indeed a Harlequin Ladybird(Ladybug) nymph. Well done Stephen-next time I'm in Aus, or you are over here-I'll pay up.
Everyone else who guessed correctly get to hear my enthralling lecture on Insect Morphology which will be held at the Village Hall in Earley on Wednesday. It's only 4 1/2 hours long, but the church seats are a bit hard so, bring a cushion ;-)

Stunning detail, focus and color! You are certainly getting the best out of that 7D:)

21 Jun 2011 6:11am

@Pavan Kaul: I think its the lens rather than the camera. It consistently does the job-I'm really pleased with it

You've captured remarkable detail and color in this close in shot. Superb image! I'd like to attend that lecture and I have a good boat cushion that will take care of those hard seats. :-)

21 Jun 2011 1:44pm

Jason Politte from Conway, AR, United States

Wow, what a macro - the details are just superb! I still can't the believe the very low level of noise you get when shooting at such a high ISO.

21 Jun 2011 1:59pm

@Jason Politte: The 7d is basically noiseless in daylight up to around 3200. In dim light, the noise is apparent from 800 upwards, but is easily de-noised in any of the usual bits of software

Sunder from Chennai, India

Lovely details..
Splendid shot indeed..

Stupendous...the way the light is coming across that one wing showing that texture detail.
