I enjoy paying my taxes

Posted by
CElliottUK (Reading, United Kingdom) on 5 July 2011 in Plant & Nature.

Every month, every f'ing month , I get a demand to pay someone something for something I don't understand or care even less about. Every month I pay it.
I seldom see the benefit
This is a short series about seeing the benefit.
My soul is uplifted when I walk through a pasture created by my local tax council. They thought about it, they created it it, I love it. The other £99 quid, I don't get, this £1, I get

A jewel amidst the piles of taxes you have found here. There are so many surcharges
seems even every week I get little bills from Fedex claiming ground charges, and all
sorts of taxes they cannot explain, long after a shipment.

Your council bought a 25 kg bag of seed for a fiver, and this 'gesture' is the evidence they are doing something with our bucks, it helps to keep the books straight. You can also walk in the country and see wild flowers.... cost's zilch.

But these are nice anyhow.

5 Jul 2011 8:56pm

@Michael Fresh: Umm, having just bought 400grams of wild seed for my garden-which cost over £80, I think that they spent more than a fiver

Richard from Duns, United Kingdom
