You ain't laughing now, Bugs...

Shot at a county fair. the usual Raptor demonstration was done with a bit of a twist.
Next to the bird trainer was ?His Son?, with a remote control for a toy car. Said car had been re-modelled to look like a Rabbit, with a stupid grin!
The tracking accuracy of the bird was amazing, even if the "Rabbit" was made to jink left and right, speed up, slow down, even reverse direction, the Raptor never missed

Julie L. Brown from Indianapolis, Indiana, United States

What a clever idea! I wonder what the raptor thought of the fake rabbit...

20 Oct 2011 1:51pm

@Julie L. Brown: Do you know the phrase "Exchange is no robbery"? That comes from the world of falconry. Whenever a Raptor gets a lure-of whatever type-he doesn't expect to eat it, but DOES expect to be given something in exchange for giving up possession. So as soon as the "Rabbit" had been "killed" the trainer ran over with a reward(A dead, day old chick part, I think)

Francisco Romero from Carbajal de la Legua, Spain
