Not a Sunrise, not a Sunset

Posted by
CElliottUK (Reading, United Kingdom) on 21 December 2011 in Landscape & Rural.

Two auspicious events happen today:-
1.It's my Birthday
2.It's the darkest day of the year(In the Northern Hemisphere)
So, what shot to celebrate with? Having grizzled and whined at myself about lack of light, and how unfair it all was, I thought I would take on the challenge of no light, so this is shot taken 4 hours after sunset. The illumination is from local towns, and the streak is a flight manoeuvring away from Heathrow.

The years do not go ... or months, nor days, nor hours.
Only the good times with them and spend our time.
While the recall struggle to stay alive
forever in our life ...
... forever ...
A hug, Adela

Jason Politte from Conway, AR, United States

You made the best of it here with this beautiful shot Chris, and I love the stars above the clouds. We haven't had much in the way light here either for the past month or so - a day here or there, but for the most part, it's been dull and dreary. It's not been good for photography I'm afraid. Oh, and happy birthday, of course! :-)

@Jason Politte: Thank you very much!
